Book Sale News

While the book sale occurs in late September, it requires our attention year round and is a lot of work. We must work with the limited storage space and volunteer ability and this can get a bit tricky sometimes.

In an effort to bring you a better book sale experience, to ease the workload of the library staff (and allow them to focus on serving you) and to help maintain an efficient volunteer work schedule, we ask that you hold on to your gently used donations until June 15th.

At that time, you may bring your donations to the volunteers at the Friends shed (to the right of the library) on Wednesday or Thursday evenings between 5-7pm or Saturday between 10am-12pm.  If you are unable to drop them by at these times, give us a call and we will try to accommodate you if we have the volunteer support. We will finish collecting donations on Sept. 15th.

All items must be boxed and we cannot accept:

  • encyclopedias,
  • magazines,
  • condensed books,
  • VCR or Cassette tapes,
  • textbooks,
  • other “unsellable” items

We cannot accept damaged items:

  • missing covers,
  • torn pages,
  • dirty,
  • water-stained including musty or smoky smelling

Please bring these items or others that we cannot accept directly to the Solid Waste Facility off Foreside Road for proper recycling.

We appreciate your understanding and consideration!  With your help, this could be our best book sale yet!
