Tax Information 2015

Because the IRS appropriations were significantly cut in the 2015 Omnibus Appropriations bill passed by Congress, there has been significant changes to the Tax Forms Outlet Program. Please find below our  current information on tax products at the library.

The IRS have not sent instructions this year. However, we do have the following booklets that you can either use at the library free of charge or copy (cost of copies provided):

You can also download and print them from here: www.irs.gov/Forms-&-Pubs. Please note that if you print at the library, tax forms are free but instruction booklets are $0.15 a page.

You can request booklets from the Maine Revenue Service as follows: Call 207-624-7894, then press #1 to leave your name, address and booklet request.

Do you need an appointment with AARP to do your taxes?

AARP provides free income tax assistance to low and moderate-income people, handicapped and senior citizens. They will be at the Topsham Public Library on Thursday mornings starting February 5. We still have appointments available. Please call the library on 725-1727 to make an appointment. Can’t make Thursday mornings? The AARP will be at other locations on other days. We ask that you bring the following to your appointment:

1. Copies of last year’s tax returns

2. Driver’s license or other photo ID

3. Social security cards or form from social security administration for each person listed on the return

4. Documentation related to your health insurance (if you have it or have had it in the past year)
