    Baby & Me gives your child the opportunity to hear lots of language while you spend time bonding together! Program lasts about 15-20 minutes, and is designed for babies ages birth up to 23 months.

    Saturday Morning VolunTeens

    Teens ages 14 and up are invited to join our Saturday Morning VolunTeen Program! Work together with other teens to design and run awesome community events like mini golf in the library, cookie decorating, Movie Saturdays, and more… all through the Teen Room. You’ll also help with cool projects and essential library tasks like shelving, shelf-reading, book displays, and even help with collection development. Earn volunteer hours, build leadership skills, and make the library a better place… all while having fun!

    Cancelled - Write! A Roundtable Writers’ Group for Teens

    Anyone can write, but are you a writer? or want to be one? Come explore the craft of creative writing. Expand your skills at building characters, worlds, plots, and twists. Develop your ability to give and take feedback. Learn what makes stories sell. And have fun!

    Drop in and see if this is for you. No experience necessary.  Open to all interested teens. 

     Sessions will be facilitated by M E Williams. Margaret has been writing all her life—from school assignments, to business memos, to website content, marketing brochures, and most recently to Middle Grade fiction. She taught college marketing and writing-for-business courses, before working a few years at a startup multimedia company. Her first story, a holiday chapter book, received honorable mention in an unpublished manuscript competition. She is now seeking representation to sell her debut Middle Grade fantasy novel, while working on her next book. She says, “I can’t make you a writer—that’s something you have to do yourself. But writers help writers, and I can help you on your journey.”

    Friends of the Topsham Public Library Meeting

    Started in 1998, The Friends of the Topsham Public Library is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to supporting the Topsham Public Library. The Friends value the Topsham Public Library as a cultural, educational and recreational center and contribute time, effort, and resources to further develop the library’s potential as a dynamic force in our community. The Friends augment the library budget through fundraising to finance virtually all library programs and events. Annual membership, donations, and patronage of the annual book sale strengthens the Topsham Public Library and ensures the continued growth of Library services. All meetings are open to the public. New members are always welcome.

    Jane Austen Spills the Tea

    Come for tea with this  immersive program bringing history to life through Regency era etiquette, practices, and delicious period-inspired sweets (Gluten-free and vegan options available), served with a side of gossip from Jane Austen's life and letters! Lena Ruth Yasutake, who has been an educator for over 20 years will present this program in full Regency costume. Participants may come in costume, but it is not required. Register by emailing emma@topshamlibrary.org, calling the library, or stopping at the front desk.     Preschool Storytime

    At preschool storytime, we sing songs and do action rhymes, read up to four stories, and play percussion instruments. Storytime is 30 - 45 minutes long and is designed for ages 3 and up.

    Baby & Me gives your child the opportunity to hear lots of language while you spend time bonding together! Program lasts about 15-20 minutes, and is designed for babies ages birth up to 23 months.

    Music & Rhyme Time

    At each Music & Rhyme Time we sing songs, dance and play instruments to a guitar accompaniment, participate in action rhymes, and read one short story. Each lively and fun session lasts about 20-40 minutes and is designed for two-year-olds and their grownup!

    Toddler Craft

    The two-year-olds are in charge at this art and craft time designed to let their imaginations run wild. Some sessions will consist of different art supplies to try in free-form play, while some sessions will have a more structured activity.
