    Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust: CREA Speaker Series

    Interested in learning more about the invasive insect Hemlock Woolly Adelgid, what its impact has been on the Northeast, where it's currently found in Maine, and what is being done locally to combat its presence? Join the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust's Director of Conservation, Margaret Gerber, as part of CREA's Speaker Series to learn about the impact of this invasive insect on our landscape and what is being done on conserved and state owned lands to keep hemlock trees as part of our landscape. You'll walkaway learning more about its life cycle, biological controls being utilized to curb its spread, and ways that you can help report and respond when you see this invasive in your backyard.

    Friends of the Topsham Public Library Meeting

    Started in 1998, The Friends of the Topsham Public Library is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to supporting the Topsham Public Library. The Friends value the Topsham Public Library as a cultural, educational and recreational center and contribute time, effort, and resources to further develop the library’s potential as a dynamic force in our community. The Friends augment the library budget through fundraising to finance virtually all library programs and events. Annual membership, donations, and patronage of the annual book sale strengthens the Topsham Public Library and ensures the continued growth of Library services. All meetings are open to the public. New members are always welcome.

    Inventing Trees Popup Puppetry Theater and Mobile Makers’ Lab

    Join us for the puppetry magic of Inventing Trees, the performing and visual arts puppetry troupe that attempts to bring more puppetry into community spaces that might not have access to art instruction. Explore their Mobile Makers’ Lab and put together your own puppet. This project is funded by Kindling Fund, a partnership project between The Warhol Foundation and Space Gallery. This event is FREE and open to all. We look forward to making puppets with you!

    They have won several awards including winner of the 2022Critic’s Choice Award at Portfringe 2022 and the Mayo Street Arts’ Mission Award in 2023 as well as being 2024 Kindling Fund Grant recipients. Young Critics is held on the second Tuesday of the month at 5 pm, and runs from November through May. We supply books and pizza, you supply your opinions! Must be registered to attend.
