TPL Programs

Designed for 3-5 year olds, we will learn about different kinds of art and try out different art styles and supplies. Caregivers are requested to stay nearby, in case your preschooler needs assistance. 

Calling young art lovers! This club is designed for 7-12year olds and will allow young artists to experiment and learn about different art styles and try out new forms of arts and crafts. Weekly from 4-5 on Tuesdays. 

The two-year-olds are in charge at this art and craft time designed to let their imaginations run wild. Some sessions will consist of different art supplies to try in free-form play, while some sessions will have a more structured activity. This program starts right after Music & Rhyme time each week. 

Come build a brick masterpiece with our Lego collection! Ages 4 and up with a grownup!

Nintendo Switch Club, Fridays, 1:30 –5:45 p.m.: Calling all teen gamers! Join us for an afternoon of fun, friends, and Nintendo Switch action. Whether you’re racing in Mario Kart, smashing it up in Super Smash Bros., or teaming up in Splatoon, we’ve got three in-house Switch consoles and plenty of games to go around. Drop in anytime, no experience needed. Just bring your game face and get ready to level up your Friday!

Drop by and get creative! Teens are invited to design and press their own custom buttons every Friday afternoon. Whether you're into art, activism, or just want to make something cool for your backpack, this quick, fun session is the perfect way to kick off the weekend. All supplies provided. No registration needed, just show up!

Teens ages 14 and up are invited to join our Saturday Morning VolunTeen Program! Work together with other teens to design and run awesome community events like mini golf in the library, cookie decorating, Movie Saturdays, and more… all through the Teen Room. You’ll also help with cool projects and essential library tasks like shelving, shelf-reading, book displays, and even help with collection development. Earn volunteer hours, build leadership skills, and make the library a better place… all while having fun!

Join us in celebrating and learning from high school scientists!  Under the guidance of teacher Rebecca Norklun, students from Mt. Ararat High School’s Advanced Biology class spent their fall semester conducting research on the Cathance River Nature Preserve, alongside local scientist mentors. Once a week during September and October students spent the morning with their scientist mentors, recording game camera footage to learn about mammal populations, using binoculars to spy on bird populations, and collecting data to contribute to a long term forest study plot that has been monitored since the early 2000s. Students developed research questions and then dealt with the realities of collecting and compiling real world data throughout the fall semester. Now it is time to present their data to the public.
