We have over 45,000 items in our collection (not including all the items available through interlibrary loan). Most of these items are available for free with your library card. We have a wide variety of books (fiction and nonfiction), audiobooks, newspapers, magazines, movies, TV shows, music and even video games in our adult, teen and children’s collections. We loan out telescopes, fishing rods and binoculars. Our library also has the Maine Collection, a collection of books pertaining to Maine history and culture that has a permanent home at the library.
We also have 8 desktop computers available for public use, all connected to the internet. Need wireless? We have wireless connectivity (internet and printing) throughout the library, including the garden and parking lot!

Telescope
The latest addition to our collection is an Orion StarBlast 4.5 Astro Scope! Thanks to a grant from Cornerstones of Science, you can check out a telescope just like you would a book. The telescope may be checked out by a member of the Topsham Public Library who is 18 years or older, and has been in good standing for a minimum of 6 months. Each patron must present a valid Maine driver’s license or other government issued I.D. The check out period is one week and the telescope must be returned directly to a staff member at the circulation desk.
Fishing Rods
Topsham Public Library has a variety of fishing rods including closed reel and fly rods that can be checked out with your library card. We are just by the river! Ask at the circulation desk for details.
Binoculars
Ever considered bird watching? The Topsham Public Library has a number of pairs of binoculars that can be checked out with your library card. Ask at the circulation desk or reserve your pair here.
